The client
Bhutan Telecom Limited is the country's flagship telecommunications operator, providing mobile, fixed line, and internet services to households, businesses, and institutions across all twenty dzongkhags. Through its broadband, leased line, and BT AirFiber offerings, Bhutan Telecom connects communities from urban Thimphu to remote gewogs — a backbone role that demands reliable, well-supported customer-side hardware.
For a country where geography makes connectivity hard-won, the router that sits in a customer's home or shop is more than an accessory. It is the final, decisive link in the chain.
The brief
Bhutan Telecom required a steady, well-distributed supply of dual-band wireless routers to deploy as Customer Premises Equipment (CPE) for its broadband subscribers nationwide. The chosen device needed to:
- Handle the dual-band Wi-Fi demands of modern households and small businesses
- Be simple enough for end users to set up with minimal technical support
- Carry a globally trusted brand name with proven reliability
- Be backed by an in-country distributor capable of consistent supply, warranty, and after-sales support
The TP-Link Archer C20 fit the brief on every count.
Why the Archer C20
The TP-Link Archer C20 AC750 is built specifically for last-mile deployment scenarios:
- Dual-band Wi-Fi — 433 Mbps on 5 GHz and 300 Mbps on 2.4 GHz, giving subscribers room to run video calls, streaming, and everyday browsing without congestion
- Three external antennas for stable coverage across the typical Bhutanese household or small office floorplan
- Multiple operating modes — Router, Access Point, and Range Extender — letting Bhutan Telecom's installation teams adapt the same SKU to different premises
- Easy setup via the TP-Link Tether mobile app, reducing installation time and support load
- WPA3 security for modern, future-proofed network protection
For an ISP rolling out at scale, having one well-understood, well-stocked CPE device dramatically simplifies field operations.
aBit's role
As the national distributor for TP-Link in Bhutan, aBit Private Limited is responsible for the entire downstream supply chain — from international procurement and customs clearance, through warehousing in Thimphu, to coordinated delivery against Bhutan Telecom's deployment schedule.
For this consignment, our team handled:
- Procurement and import — Coordinating directly with TP-Link to bring in the required volumes of Archer C20 units, with all documentation and compliance handled in-country.
- Warehousing — Receiving, inspecting, and palletising the consignment at our Thimphu warehouse, with serial-level inventory tracking.
- Order fulfilment — Picking, packing, and dispatching against Bhutan Telecom's purchase order, with full handover documentation.
- After-sales support — Standing behind the product with TP-Link's manufacturer warranty, backed by aBit's local Support Center for any device-level issues that surface during deployment.

Why this matters
Distribution is often invisible work. A subscriber in Phuentsholing or Trashigang who plugs in their new router does not see the warehouse, the documentation, or the late-night stock take. They simply expect the internet to work.
That is exactly the standard we hold ourselves to. Every router that leaves our warehouse represents a household, a small business, or a school getting online — and a small reinforcement of the trust Bhutan Telecom places in us as their distribution partner.
Looking ahead
This consignment is one of several scheduled handovers under our ongoing distribution arrangement with Bhutan Telecom. As Bhutan continues its push toward universal connectivity, aBit remains committed to keeping the supply of trusted networking hardware steady, well-supported, and locally accountable.
